Scope and content

Anonymous treatise on difficulties in, and objections against the truth of the Holy Scripture, on the supposition of their subject of plenary inspiration: imperfect at beginning and end, and extending from §8 to §64. In quarto, the paragraphs were numerated as sections by Baxter and are so referred to in his answer Corr 1014; Treatises, I, art 14., which contains 76 corresponding sections. The MS is written by the same hand as the anonymous letter to Baxter, in Corr 1009. ‘of Scripture because they were of divine authority, or because many of them were good books containing many excellent moral sayings, and supposed to be written by some prophet to say the first were too discover our to easy beleife of a thing we have not the least assurance for:’
